Taking a set of 60's PAF's for a test drive. Found these pups last year at an obscure guitar shop in the boon docks, the guy had them sitting there for years.
Found a really cool un-Les Paul to put them in. They've got shiny gold covers but they are the real deal. Had to sawp the covers to match the hardware. Just sold the stock pups on eBay last week. It's a 98 LP DC - very PRS inspired and in the coolest orange I've ever seen and I liked it because of the 24 frets. Great for those early 70's Jerry tones, although I'm getting more of 75 -ish tone here. It's a stupid simple set up. Three PU settings, 1 volume and 1 tone. There is something to be said for the simplicity.
For a humbucker, the bridge PU cleans up really nice, and also has some bite to it. Sounds unbelievable when it pushes a tube amp into OD. It's only 7.15K but it's more powerful than most of my Dimarzio's in terms of straight volume.
