A Jerry Mutron III

A Jerry Mutron III

Postby waldo041 » Sun Mar 10, 2013 2:27 pm

This will definitely be the most expensive MuTron III ever. But it was not his #1 as the one used in his 80's and 90's rack had the gray knobs. So this would have been a backup or studio used as he stated but could only have been used live before aug 1979.

I was the high bidder for about an hour, that's as close as I'll ever get to it.

Why doesn't it have the mod done to it?
Is that how you can tell this has to be post-'79?

I thought the mutron on his '90's rack had the in/out switch mod?

Even if it was only used in the studio that still wicked badass, especially with the settings marked by Garcia himself.

I wonder how high it's gonna go.

Dan Healy is selling it, the guy who modded most of Jerry's rig. It does not have the 90's rack mod because it was not the one used in his live rig, at least post aug 79.
Closing of Winterland new yeara eve 78 shows the gray knob in use as well.

The Boss Tone was likely used on Dirty Business ala New Riders.

That Mutron III is worth alot, it was Jerry's.

Tiger originally cost Jerry like 15,000 went for 970,000 after Jerry died

If money was no object, it would be nice to have one of Jers Mutrons.........................

I suppose that based on the photo, everyone will start using their Mutron in BP mode?

The only thing Garcia had that I'd truly want unfortunately cannot be bought at any price: his talent.

I tried BP. Felt like I had to keep an open mind. Quickly returned to LP.

Also on my Mu that wasn't quite enough gain. But for me, I tend to set pedals up and forget about them. It's good to change things up once in a while.

So what do you think the estimated profit will be on that Mutron? ;)
