I come up with 21 ohms parallel 24 ohms series. Would this damage the MC250? I run it stereo one side not bridged. I know a 2x12 is easier but I'm curious as to how Jerry wired the 3 speaker cab. I checked past threads and couldn't find it.
After some thought if I have 2 wired to 4 ohm and add the 3rd that gives me 2+ ohms. The mc2300 had a 2 ohm tap i believe. I can put 2 in series for 16ohm + the 3rd would give me 5+ ohms. So the question is which would be better considering the mc250 does not have any tap less than 4 ohm. Neither? Stick with a 2 twelve cab? I don't want to damage the mc250
Found the thread and yes it was thrown around that they were running 2+ ohms on the 4 ohm tap but also Glenn from Hard Truckers mentioned Parish would often have a speaker back stage so they could monitor JG so the load would be even (4 speakers) in that instance. My question if anyone knows can you damge a MC this way?
3 x 8 ohm speakers = 2.67 ohms. Close enough to 4 ohms for a McIntosh.
I'd run the amp in bridged "mono" mode but you might like the sound of just one channel better at 50W if you don't need to get that loud (but then why use 3 speakers if you don't need to get loud?).
