odd 1991 Rosebud pic

what's with the external Roland unit on Rosebud in this pic... anyone?

just a guess, but i believe there were problems with the first roland jack on rosebud, the one that protrudes out as in that picture. that gets ditched a flat plate put on it over it's hole, and a military style jack is routed into the edge of rosebud. the military jack allowed for a twist lock plug so it would never fall out.

Wow what show was that from??? I betcha he only used it looking like that for very few if more than one show at all. Tiger probably came out next night and rosebud went for emergency surgery in an ambulance.

I didn't notice this sooner... but the internal GK unit's pickup is visible under Jerry's right handle, parallel to the strings.

Good Eye! i guess he would have to use the external units pickup as well, thus the pulled internals pickup.

i also see that he is in the elusive neck position on the 5 way as well.

Yeah thats the roland external signal processor first seen on the black n white strat during space at first then to the wolf . So in this instance the internal spu must have blown and the external was tapped in probably between sound check and showtime. Maybe internal failed during the day at sound check. Thats what they call jerry riggin it just in time for the show.
