Omega modded Hot Rod Deluxe

Omega modded Hot Rod Deluxe

Postby Grateful.Ed » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:00 pm

Just got back from trading my DRRI for a MIA Omega Hot Rod Deluxe with a Celestion G12-65. I've only played a strat through the clean channel so far, but it's got the goods. The DRRI was breaking up too soon for me...this HRD really sings!

My initial plan was to dump most of my gear and get a modelling rig, primarily for Vox and Fender tones. Saw this F/T on the gear page (the guy wanted to go to a lower watt amp) and it was fairly local, so....

Based on this clean tone, I may try a Liverpool pedal and call it a day.

This mod also claims to dramatically improve the drive/more drive channels too, but it got too late to really mess with them.

i had one for a while. it's a nice package at a very reasonable price. good cleans and improved drive. i ended up preferring something else, but absolutely nothing wrong with the omega HRD's.

Jim Price modded my 410 deville that was my main amp for a few years (been using the Boogie IIa for the last year). The drive on the deluxe/deville is horrible without a mod. Jim really brings it to life.
