Actually, Liberty is all Robert Hunter, as I explained in a previous post. Lyrics AND music... a la Must Have Been The Roses. I guess that means its still a GD song, but Garcia didn't co-write it.

Well I would say my bad, but it is my understanding that Hunter had written the song (lyrics and music) and then Garcia re-wrote, if you will, the music before he started reforming it with the Dead...

Maybe so CountryMile but I believe tigerstrat means the progression in general. And besides Liberty is a basic enough tune, tab wise, that I could see Hunter writin that one himself

That is the case. See the note in Box of Rain, 2nd Ed, in the appendix on new GD songs.
