Hello from Central Illinois

Postby jefkahn » Wed Mar 03, 2010 3:32 pm

Hey everyone. I'm really enjoying this forum.

I'm Jef from Bloomington, Illinois. I'm downstate from Chicago a couple hours. As I write this I'm listening to one of the Soldier Field 1995 shows--the last ones. Could it really be 15 years? I saw my first show in Richmond, VA in 1983 and last one in Chicago in 1995.

I'm a hobby player, and my bands have been very local (sometimes restricted to a basement). My guitar I'm most into now is my American Tele stock expect for CSN pickups (which are sweet). I play through a Vox AC30CC1 but also have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe which does clean pretty well. The Vox has a little more magic though. I also have a Strat Plus, SG, Ricky 360-12, Jagmaster, and Martin 000-16.

If any Bloomington deadheads are out there looking to jam, let me know. I know a lot of songs but need to work on my chops. But then again, I'd never be happy with my playing no matter how good I get.

Anyway, nice to be in this community of deadheads.

Spent time in Decatur, Effingham, Champaign, Centralia, Chicago but never Bloomington. Welcome.
It all rolls into one and nothing comes for free
There's nothing you can hold for very long
And when you hear that song come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life was just a dream
