Hello everyone

Hey!

I've been a rather casual fan of TGD for many years -- mostly their late 60's/early 70's studio albums.

But I think I'm missing out on something, and I'm particularly curious about the Dick's Picks series, since it seems to varied and deep.

Anyway this forum looks cool!

Hello there and welcome! :-)

You don't meet too many "casual" GD fans! We're going to have to do something about that!

Dick Picks, well it can seem like a huge task to work through but great great fun. Here's a couple of links that might help:

That's for sure. Not much room in the middle when it's been so often said you either love 'em or hate 'em.

Welcome music nerd. If you're not aware you can also do some downloading and streaming at archive.org.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah, I got into TGD first through Aoxomoxoa, being a fan of psychedelic music. Which turned out not to be all that representative of their career as a whole, but I worshipped it!

I know what you mean about there not being many casual fans of the band. I've always been at an odd sort of crossroads, I love the few albums I've heard a million times, but never got into the live stuff. (Which is kind of like saying, "I like this restaurant, except for the food" ... ;)

Anyway, I'm open minded, and always looking for new stuff. Thanks for the links, DP Vol. 14 seems intriguing, maybe I'll get that one.

:D

Jerry once said "Our fans are like people that like black licorice, not many people like black licorice, but the people that do like black licorice, really like black licorice"
