I'm 25... I play experimental noise and ambient type music... kind of swing styles but all of it is fairly abstract atonal stuff. In a 4-piece group called Hunted Creatures, solo on occasion and in a duo called White Reeves. Grew up on more aggressive music like metal and punk... always had a strong love for sound though, not just melody. This lead me to tons of other music and eventually the sounds of the Grateful Dead which I grew up with (my mom is a deadhead) finally clicked. I realized they weren't the best or even the first at any one style, but the *only* band to successfully melt so many things together into a totally unique experience. I don't care for many jam bands... the Grateful Dead were truly the masters of this fusion of bluegrass, country, rock and roll, psychedelic rock, jazz, avant garde, etc etc.... TRULY GREAT MASTERS OF SOUND. And Jerry's guitar tone.... oomph!
