Hey everyone. This is a video of my band, Acid Rain, doing Viola Lee Blues. The band consists of me, Cassidy on lead guitar and vocals, my brother Hayden on drums, and my friend David on rhythm guitar. Please let me know what you guys think. Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing! For some reason the levels are off the balance is out of sync on my pc. Can't say for sure. Maybe it's just me?

I don't know if it's you or the way the video works. It looks much better on DVD, though.

Nice work. I didn't start playing, for real till I was about 20. Wish I'd started when I was your age. Keep at it and always push the envelope. There's always something new to learn.

How long have you been playing? I started when I was 13 (3 years ago). Keep it up! you're really good. Just try to have more diversity within your solos, it took me a while to get out of that. But otherwise, great job, I enjoyed watching that.

Hey thanks a lot everyone. I've been playing for 2 years. And I know that I need to keep working at my solos. I just find the minor pentatonic scale a bit restrictive. Plus, I am not very experienced at playing in front of people and I was trying to show off a bit. But, that's no excuse. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching and replying!

Pretty good for just 2 yrs.

Try working in some chromatics and experiment with the major 3rd within your blues lick phrasing. Hammer to the maj 3rd. from the flat third while presenting a phrase. You can within the very next phrase present the flat third. This may seem somewhat disjointed at first but as long as the two phrases have some cohesion they can be placed one right after the other with the result being a varied sound as well as taking the lead into a different place.

You're young so this is understandable so you'll move through this with experience.

The goal is to be true to the art, as the art is the thing, and not the person performing it.

Hey, thanks for the advice Bill. I'm quite flattered by all of these replies. I will be sure to try your recommendation for the blues scale. And thanks for watching!

Nice job, boy that looked like fun. You sure picked a great tune.

I am just amazed how young guys like you can be into 40 year old music. Says alot for the music that is for sure. it really lives on. And of course you have good taste for choosing it.

By the way, Jerry used to play at pool parties too.

Thanks a lot, folks! We actually hadn't rehearsed this song for our set. It was entirely last minute, so I'm glad to hear that it turned out alright. Thanks again.
