Code: Select all

. Thanks for the help.

my personal favorite "Black Throated Wind", maybe a little more highway than cowboy, but trucker/cowboy, same guy different rides.
There are only two mantras. Yum and yuk. Mine's yum.

Definitely Dire Wolf, Cumberland, Dark Hollow

and some that seem kind of iffy: Brown Eyed Woman, Peggy O, Minglewood, Rider, southern states in the name (Tennessee Jed, Alabama Getaway, Mississippi Half Step), Chuck Berry songs (Johnny B. Goode and Promised Land), BIODTL

There is a show from the 70s where Billy is late and Mickey is on hiatus and they do a bunch of old country cowboy tunes....

I'll see if I can locate it.

I dunno... a lot of these are gambler songs, hobo songs, traveling songs, robber songs, prison songs, but very few would I call cowboy songs, probably just Mexi, MAMU, Big Iron and El Paso... and Cardboard Cowboy!

Cardboard Cowboy is a Phil song from '66 that lasted throughout that year. It was released on a bonus CD that came with Phil's book. Although it can be heard on live shows from that year.
