You nailed it strumm. JK and the other members have Bobby and Phil playing more energetically and creatively than they did for many of the latter days of the Grateful Dead. It is great to see Bobby and Phil enjoying themselves and getting to do what they want to do. A Furthur show is a chance to sing, dance, party, and have a good time (like the old days....).

Personally I like JK, I think he's handled the situation with class. Garcia is gone and he ain't coming back. His legacy lives on through the remaining members playing live and the audience digging it. His legacy also lives on through all of us who passionately play the music of the band.

I said it before and I'll mention it again, be thankful that well into retirement age Bobby and Phil still choose to tour (paying/funding for TRI and Terrapin Crossroads may have a little to do with it too....) and allow us, and newer generations, to experience the music live and rocking.

Anyway this thread is about DSO and I am probably going to see them for the first time in NJ next month.

You can't honestly say this isn't awesome.

Wow! I'd be pretty freakin' stoked if I just pulled off that China>Rider transition!
Really freakin' stoked. I'd feel like I should be paid for my efforts. Jeff sure should :-)
So I'll keep payin' them when their in my neck of the Great North Woods!

Sounds less brittle than in the fall. Anybody know if he went to the Mc2300 yet. Sure sounds "rounder" than the Bryston from the Fall tour.

Peace

Furthur's still the best Dead cover band out there, really no competition (as good as DSO is).

We are not comparing Furthur to DSO. We are comparing John K of Furthur to Jeff Matson of DSO (Jerry figures)

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find the definitive answer this time and Deadheads around the world will all agree on it.

There is WWJP: What would Jerry play.
And there is WWJP: What would John play.
And still there is WWJP: What would Jeff play.
