I can hear the snickering from here, but really do you have a fav Bob slide part? I do
Stagger Lee is such a powerful song both vocally and instrumentally, Bob's slide playing adds another layer and dimension to the song, I think his parts are pretty cool and sound awesome.Makes a great song even better!

I like all of them! Not because I'm a Bobby fan, per say, but because there are 3 midrange instruments in the GD and 2 are guitar. When Bobby picks up the slide it sounds like 3 unique midrange instruments!

+1 for that mention

As well as the Walkin' Blues from Dozin' At The Knick. Not that big a fan of LR Rooster at all to begin with, but sometimes he gets the slide right (IMO), and other times, it's like street cats making love (more like street cats getting raped, actually)

I like slide playing in general, it has a very sweet sound. Also in blues jams, for example I Need A Miracle, that's just a good mixture.....
What I don't like is when bobby thinks he's got to play on the top frets or even where there aren't frets anymore at all, I don't know who told him that it sounds good.

Some of you don't remember when Bobby used to "practice" slide during the show.

Bob's slide work on some of the earlier versions of Stagger Lee can help explain my user name :-)

I love Bobby on slide in Althea. Ive posted this vid many times before, but here I think is a great balance of Jerry in prime form and Bobby being creative in the middle.

Why is this in members gigs and live dates!!? :-?

Anyway, I think Stagger Lee is a nice bit of recorded work of Bob on the slide with the GD. Though when live his tone was often far too tinny for the slide and some of his runs made me cringe. I mean he's hardly David Lindley! But who is! I liked Jerry as well.

At least with Bob you can't say he's ever been boring, even when....well ya know what I'm sayin!
