Grateful Dead Live at Capitol Theater on 1976-06-19 (June 19

Just came across this on Archive.org. This show was a very popular "tape" that was traded around heavily in the "old days". One reason this show was so popular was that it was broadcast ("simulcast") over WNEW FM in New York. This presented the Dead Heads of the time an opportunity to tape the live FM broadcast, and thus many relatively good recordings were made of this show and it was traded around bigtime. One of the last GD shows at the Capitol in Passiac NJ. This show is burned indelibly into the brain cells of many a Deadhead.

6/19/76 is one of my all-time favorites. I remember recording it live off the air (WNEW-FM, New York).

Love the spacey Help/Slip/Franklins opener. Great PITB. Love the early Sampson w/out Jerry effects. The LIG-Dancin transition w/ Phil playing the bass like a rubber band is sublime. The Dancin' is amazing (Jerry is great), and the Cosmic Charlie is my all-time favorite. 5 stars!

just got done listening and playing along, god those were some golden times for music. All of that brand new material pulled out of their creative butts, the crowd cheering, blown away, like they all gave birth emotionally at once. Must have been mind blowing. Fantastic recording, wish I didn't have all my hard drives full, I need more shows.
