The Post guitars that don't come with Buffer/OBEL could be used with a Buffer/oBEL Pedal (oBEL = Out-Board Effects Loop).
I believe Waldo has made at least a few.

Id rather have the buffer/obel in the guitar. It's very convinient and not very hard to install. They do come with the buffer/obel installed for about $250 more.

The Buffer/0BEL Pedal costs about $75 as I recall, and you can use it with any instrument you own.
I think of it as an "option" that would be attractive to some with multiple axes.
I also have a Tiger Modded Strat, too.
I would love to do a blind test for you guys and see if you could tell which is which.

I don't think I would be able to tell by listening to a home recording through the computer speaker, but if I was there I would here a subtle difference. That is all!

Trial 1B: Buffer is 10 feet from pickup.

That's about all the difference there is between an OBEL and a oBEL.

try the same tests 1A & 1B with guitar volume full on and then try it with the guitar volume at Half(1/2) and see what the difference is once you add resistance to that cable capacitance.

Believe me, I have.
My other Strat has just that cap in there to prevent tone loss.
But I use other guits with the oBEL pedal that are stock, and also sound fine to me.
My total cord length with the Buffer pedal is only 10ft, compared to like 30ft with the OBEL.
I could gig either way and... only my hairdresser would know (OBEL or oBEL).
I'm thinkin' Troy knows this too. He makes/sells Jerry inspired gutars without OBEL.
Either way, I'm still using your buffer (I've got two now).

If you have a volume pedal at the end of your chain...and your guitar vol is 75-100%...

Would any there be discernible difference in tone from oBEL or OBEL?

+1 That is what I'm thinking. There has to be a difference. Maybe slight difference, but the ears that are used to the tone we seek will hear/notice it.
