Musical Theory Abound!!!

tigerstrat, you are correct. I errored when I didn't change what I pasted for the very end of Slip before Franklin's....the way you have it is correct. As for the jam in Slip, I tend to use the notes

A B C D E F F# G A (which I believe are the same as what you're calling the BeBop Minor scale)

and often try to build something interesting from various start/end points and by using various patterns and intervals such as 3rds and 6ths. Definitely one if--if not my number one favorite tune to play.

Who out there has some thoughts on playing the jam in Estimated?

I mess around with it in what I think folks would call F# Dorian mode with some alterations, but I'd like to hear what others think works well for that tune and for the jam in Saint of Circumstance.

TIA---MT

Right, the Estimated jam is in F# Dorian ( E Major ), which is why it was an easy transition into Eyes ( same key ).
Out of the loop? I didn't know there was a loop!

I would say it is in E...as for scales/modes, think E to E with an A maj scale....do you call that E mixolodian perhaps?
