O.K. I put together a quick YouTube of the Touch solo based on the studio version.
I tried to stay basic and close to the chord shapes ala the CAGED method. There are also a few single note lines, but they basically stay in the chord position(s).
There have been some threads on the CAGED method of soloing as well as using apreggios in soloing, and for me this one uses both.
(Note: When I name the chords, I am naming the CAGED chord name/position, not the actual chord of the song.)

thanks pete, that was really sweet... i've just been learning that method thanks to a friend from this board and it really is awesome to see vids put together like the ones on here .. this helped a lot with my understanding of arpeggios using the CAGED method,.. cool stuff and many many thanks.. tom

Very nice Pete!

I would only add that while you show the caged E position B and D position F#, you also play the C position B and A position F#, 2 frets up from the A position E and C position A, which you lean on more heavily. Whew! That was a mouthful.

I start off right at the C position B.

You show, so nicely, how important playing over the chords is; heavy on the arpeggios and melding lines with same.

Grate work.

Uhhh, I received many cards and letters asking that I not use a 7-string to demonstrate to a mostly 6-string crowd, especially not one with no fret markers.
I still have one 6 string electric, so I used it this time.

Yeah, it's hard to capture all the nuances of the chord forms in words.

The D and C chord shapes are basically the same.
The A and G chord shapes are basically the same.

The scales assosiated with D/C, and/or A/G... I think of those as being one position apart.

The D scale being behind the D chord form.
The C scale being above the D chord form (although now I'm thinking C shape).

For example, just before the solo where I say, A, E, A (the actual chords are A, E, F#), I probably should have called it A shape, E shape, G shape.

I think the difference is if you are covering those 3 strings with your ring finger (A-shape), or index finger (G-shape).

An appropriate distinction I sometimes fail to recognize as I always play the open A with my index finger barring the 2nd fret! Thus a G shape A chord.
