help needed with two chord positions....

Can anybody tell me the finger positions for

A\G# A\F#


Ive tried getting it myself while playing, and its nowhere to be found in my huge chord/positioning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I play the open A with just my index finger on the B, G and D string on the 2nd fret. This makes it easy to wrap around your thumb for the F# bass note or your pinky, ring, or middle finger for the G# bass note. I use my ring finger.

If you don't already play the open A this way it'd be a good idea to try it out. With practice you should even be able to eventually allow the high E to ring open.

I use just the last digit of my finger to cover the three strings.

Yea thats a great way to play the A if you are going to transfer quickly to another cord. Traditionally, that is what you want to do but if you want to play an arpeggio or warp the cord you can even play it with your middle, ring, and pinky fingers

This is a bit harder for switching cords but sounds great when you want to tweak a note by sliding your pinky down or playing a note on the high e with your index finger to create high note or slip in a base note on the E string with your index finger. It all depends on the song your playing.

Here is how I'd play them. Barre over the 2nd fret:

A/G#
e --5-
B --2-
G --2-
D --2-
A -x--
E --4-

A/F#
e --5-
B --2-
G --2-
D --2-
A -x--
E --2-

I'd also try an F#m7 in place of the A/F#
