The neck is all maple, that is with a, what looks like mahogany, skunk stripe. But I didn't make the neck... it's off a Hondo "Fame 760"

I bought the Hondo originally, on ebay, because it had Alembic pups and active electronics in it, for $125... but it turned out the neck is great, and fits my hand perfectly. I never really liked the Alembic setup, so it turned into parts :-)

I also did a good fret leveling/dressing, and a new bone nut. The frets needed a good bit of work, I guess that's part of what makes a neck cheap. But just a little work, and it's a great neck.

How hard was the wiring for this guitar? I was thinking about doing the triple hex pickups as well, insead of the double-single-double one. I will probably end up ordering a pre-made WGD body from warmouth.

The wiring wasn't hard, it was a bit tight in a few spots, but OK. Basically it's the same as the Jerry Schematics that are available, with the addition of a true bypass/led switch for the Tube Screamer, and I also used a true bypass for the whole active section, so if there is ever a problem, I can just go with the unaltered pups and tone controls. I guess I changed that a bit; I combined the Neck and Middle tone control, and left the Bridge tone exclusive.

As per Caspersvapors' request, here's a video... and I used the Rivera Amp instead of the Champ... you'll have to pardon the webcam mike

but I think you can hear the difference even with the distortion...

Oh, the name of the mode has jumped clean away... it's the one with a flat 7... mainly I'm just diddling with that and the Scarlet Begonias thing in the back of my mind :smile:

It's too bad that webcam mike was so nasty... I'll make a regular audio clip with the real mics and the Rivera setup when I get to it...
