been working on the solo to this song for a few days. having trouble with making the right sounds that gilmour does with the bends in the beginning. any suggestions??

do you mean you aren't sure what notes he's playing or you are having trouble bending the strings enough to hit the same pitches. you might need thinner strings for easier bends. not sure.
One thing we must remember here is that one of the main things that sets Gilmour's playing above others is his great tone and bending ability. For the most part he is just hitting pentatonics and chord tones but the way he gets there is what makes it interesting.
He is incredible at what he does . . . . so my advice is to listen to the song alot and practice away like mad.
Can't remember if thats the tune w/the solo Dave plays on a 24 fret Strat.Might be the problem if you don't have enough frets.There are some big bends.I always had more probs. w/the start of the solo on the lower strings as compared to the rest of the solo on the higher frets.Anyway its a great solo to learn.Good luck.
