Yeah Yonder kicks so much ass, one of the best good bluegrass bands around. They do other Dead tunes also.
And I know they do Beatle's covers, I have a dear prudence show.

I really like RRE to ,just got into them, there really good. Hot buttered Rum is good also, My cousin got me into them like a year or two ago, they have ther own sound to them.
Hey, how do you think jerry would feel about the world today???

there's a torrent out there called 'yonder plays jerry'

keep on going>new speedway boogie>spoonful>NSB>Other One>KOG
rueben and cherise
mason's children
mississippi 1/2 step
ramblin in the rambler>deep elem blues>rambler
tleo
pig in a pen
dear prudence
fire on the mountain

within the last year yonder has consciously moved away from most of their covers. at least the dead, beatles(they've kept playing 'only a northern song'which they own), and other contemporary bands. i believe it's for the better because a lot of their new stuff is very original. of course i'd kill to see a tleo live

When we saw them at the Wolf's Den Brewpub in Nederland, CO 7/1/99, they played about 50% Dead covers (excellently)... we had just popped in for a beer before climbing South Arapaho Peak the following morning- we had no idea who they were and there was no cover, and the audience was maybe a dozen folks total. Those were the days I guess!

They were obviously still nobodies at that time, but about a year later they broke big: I saw an ad for them appearing somewher in Chicago- Park West maybe or some other large nightclub/small theater. Next time I actually saw them play was at the Horning's NW String Summit(HIGHLY recommended!!) 2003 and the crowd had grown to a few thousand...

Wow, score, this is really tasty. I've heard them do a smokin Bloody Mary Morning as well. Not the Dead, but a good cover.

What album (or show) would you recommend for someone who has never even heard about the Yonder Mountain String Band and wants to get to know the band? (Not my case, of course :P)

Welp thats it, its official I am a new fan of YMSB. That Dead cover compilation is great. The Reuben and Cherise was hot.

And . . . RRE? Little help?
