Best Pigpen Showings

Postby Shooster » Sun Dec 17, 2006 8:51 pm

Looking through my library of tapes today, I realized that I don't have a really excellent Pigpen show. I would love to get some show suggestions of nights where 'Pen was raving and really blowin.

Thanks in advance.

I'll finsh,

All of them!!lololo .I dig Pen. To hear him perform "Hurts me To" is just simply gut wrenching.
I loved the harp end he brought to the fold.

Pig changed as the GD changed and sadly it becomes apparent in the 71+ era. If you listen to him in the 60s you hear him as a front man driving the band in a celebration of beautiful R&B, blues, and a touch of psychedelia. After TC came on board his role diminishes around 69/70 then he becomes a treat thereafter.

I've got DVDs and VCDs both early and late in Pigs tenure and it's actually heartbreaking to see the one-time large man with an even larger presence and contribution to a dwindling man with dwindling contribution.

Damn, I miss Pig...
