Inspired by the video that someone (caspervapors?) posted of the JGB "What a Wonderful World", I decided to post another song that you'll find on the same youtube site, "You Never Can Tell"....great song, always wanted to play it. Pretty easy too!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR5MaOue ... ed&search=

Here's the tab that I found on www.911tabs.com for it (it was in C so I jus transposed it to D, which is what JG plays it in). I'll add licks/riffs when I get a chance to update it further, but for now, here it is:

Code: Select all
You Never Can Tell
By Chuck Berry

VERSE 1:
--------
         D5
It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
                                                    A5
You could see that Pierre did truly love the madamoiselle

And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,
                                                                 D5
'C'est la vie', say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

VERSE 2: [play like verse 1]
--------
They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale,
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
'C'est la vie', say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

Solo over verse

VERSE 3: [play like verse 1]
--------
They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
'C'est la vie', say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

VERSE 4: [play like verse 1]
--------
They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53,
They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate the anniversary
It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely madamoiselle
'C'est la vie', say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

Solo over verse

VERSE 5: [play like verse 1]
--------
They had a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell,
'C'est la vie', say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell
