Strings - Who uses Elixers?

Considered a new string to change things up, but I already know I don't like coated strings. So, since the biggest factor with un-coated strings seems to be personal preference, I wondered if a 24k gold string might hold up to corrosion and outperform coated strings tonally?

I suppose they would need to last three times as long to be cost effective, but these 24k strings aren't just for looks, are they?

I don't think I would invest in a set of 24 karat gold strings. Especially not for my electric.

Wanted to wait a week or 2 before posting a review - elixir nanoweb lights 10-46 for electric. I was sold as soon as I put them on. They sound better than D'darios, I couldn't tell they were coated, other than the low strings played incredibly fast. So great sound, awesome feel and super fast sliding on lower strings. I would recommend trying if you have not yet had a chance.
