love the island vibe, but the intro to the first solo is just plain bad. for tropical dead i'll always put on buffetts scarlet begonias

cool cover, those guys are pretty good.

although I do like a more Jerry-ish solo than the bluesy hendrixy one. The solo he opened with was more Jerry than the others he played

I think he was being a performer: first solo was appealing to Jerry audiences, second solo to Hendrix audiences, and the third was more of a guitar "shred" metal kind of solo.
