Latest Schecter mod + latest "JGB unit"

Last April, my JGB tribute became officially independent of the GD tribute that spawned it. Only 5 gigs so far under the moniker Cats Under The Stars (and 3 different player rosters).

Few weeks ago, I finally routed my Schecter C-1 Classic for a middle humbucker and installed a DiMarzio Super Distortion, while also replacing the OEM Duncan JB &Jazz pup set, at bridge and neck respectively. Hardwired the DiMarzio as split coil and the JB and Jazz as series HB (no toggles), with shared tone pot. Previously modded with Waldo's TPC-1 and an FX loop with bypass switch.

Here's an intermediate photo of the guitar as I gigged with it on 7/31 (JB bridge pup missing because the fit was too tight, covered the space with cardboard "faux-ebony" - I later modified one of the pup mounting rings to make them all fit together, allowing the 3rd pup to be installed)



and how does it sound? ... here are mp3's from our latest show 8/21 at the Goodfoot Lounge. Everything is either middle(split) or possibly some middle(split)/bridge (series)

No, never! Once you go OBEL...

I meant they were added a few years ago, shortly after I bought the guitar in '05 ... actually it was an EMG JG-2 at first, then I put in the TPC-1 maybe 6 months ago.

What did you find is the biggest difference between the JG-2 and TPC-1?

Sounds great! What a coincidence, I just finished putting the middle super2 and the OBEL in my schecter C1+ diamond series, yesterday! It has the same finish as yours, but I used a brass tripple pickup ring. I replaced the stock dunkin pickups with super2's and installed the buffer when I bought it 3 or 4 yrs ago. I love the sound now with the resent completion, but after playing two pickup guitars for 42 yrs., it's gonna take a little bit of getting used to having that middle pickup there. I still need to figure out how to get picks on here lol!
