what's a good price for a mint condition 1978 MC 400DS with the original case and paperwork.
a good friend just passed away and I'm helping raise funds for his family.
The guitar was his and very well taken care of. thing looks brand new.
any advice would be appreciated, thank you. John

The DS won't fetch as much as the NT, but if it's pristine and has all the things collectors - as opposed to players - look for (ex cond case, paperwork), I'd think $1k - 1,300 would be reasonable.

+1 on checking the collector's site. They're freakin' rabid over there!

That DS has an incredible grain and seems to be in terrific condition. The seller bought it for $995 (a bargain!) and is flipping it. Due to the grain and condition, I think it will fetch more than mine. Yes, NT's normally sell for more...
