DSO had Phil's Irwin??

Postby Rusty the Scoob » Thu Sep 11, 2008 7:29 pm

I read here somewhere that DSO had Phil's Irwin for a while but figured they just borrowed it for a few photos... but then I found a Terrapin from 93 on Youtube and Kevin is playing it! Holy crap, that's cool! Does anyone know the full story? What happened to it after that that led Kevin to switch back to a 70's P-bass?

I think the deal is that they frequently have that Irwin bass on long-term loan from Kidd Candelerio (who also owns Jerry's old 50's goldtop Les Paul). Fwiw, Phil states in his bio that his Irwin had a lizard inlay on the back, but this bass has no back inlay at all (that's one I gotta remember to ask them about next time they come through.)
