I would think if the Tiger replica cost's that much it is completely handmade. I'm talking no power tools at all. Totally 100% hand carved. I could be wrong though.

nah, michas and a few others have the electronics wrong. here is the the electronics of tiger and there is NO cae sound preamp in it.

to Lieber's credit Moriarty Tigers are just as close to the real deal if not "dead" on. while Matt didn't help make Tiger like Lieber did, his come in just a little under half of $32,000. i can understand the pricing because tiger is really not a "standard" guitar or an "american" made guitar. it is really a museum quality piece of work. i have held and played Matt's version and unless you have one in your hand, you really cannot fathom the quality and work it took to make. all the brass, hippie sandwich and inlay's take an extremely professional hand to pull it off right. not to mention getting the actual dimensions correct. imho. michas and some other companies are way off. especially dimension wise with the michas versions. electronics are just another issues in getting it just right.

i actually play a weber kit clone of a Deluxe Reverb with 6L6's for 35 watts of power with a JBL K-120. it's lighter then a twin, half the power, but basically, half a twin. it has an AB763 preamp and thus far i do use the the power amp side but do have the preamp taps and other mods done on the layout posted, and pretty much converted to the twin reverb. i also cleaned it up by replacing the tube rectifier with a solid state version i made and plugged it into the empty rectifier tube socket.



as for effects, the mutron is the ideal, then i hear the emma, q-tron for envelope filter. a boss oc-2, or the octron for octave. a distortion(+)/overdrive(od1 or 2), phase(script 100) and delay(ada 2fx) of your liking and you should get in the ballpark!

the thing with jerry's effects loop is that there is another important component and it is the effects switcher. it was needed to true bypass all the effects when not used, and it does make a difference.

a friend that seeked me out to rewire it to tigers actual specs, before i released the schems.i actually get to play it every now and then since i rewired his moriarty wolf, tiger and rosebud. he also has a resurrection bolt and ALL of them are pretty spot on.

moriarty's are not off the shelf so hopefully he will release his website soon if he ever plans to do them for the masses. but at the price they go for and the fact matt has a pretty good paying day job, he doesn't need to put the effort into making a whole lot of them. understandable, because i would bet it is the most time consuming instrument to make.
