Man, I've been wanting to do this for a while now. Does anybody have any good/bad history with this combination? and/or which model might be a good match?

PRS custom 22 w/Dragon II's

Also thinking about trying out some new PUP's.

Any suggestions welcome!

You can put the CAE into any guitar, doesn't matter that it's a PRS.

I know Mike Young, who posts here frequently has a buffer in his PRS and loves it.

I have one in my warren haynes les paul. I like it but if I had to put one in I dont know if it is worthwhile. I am using a volume pedal and that seems to keep my tone at any volume.

CAE buffers are not the only ones out there. EMG sells one and Alembic still sells the stratoblaster. i make clones of jerry's tiger buffer, which is like none of them.

the emg and stratoblaster have boost that can raise the Db's while the cae and tiger buffers do not.
