Real Nice Alvarez WY-1 with tree of life inlay up for sale on Ebay. Thought i would post it up if anyone was in search for a nice acoustic. Also up on ebay is a Hard Truckers JG-1 Speaker cabinet for a buy now price of 745.00. That's a great buy if you know what these thing cost brand new.

I have a WY-1 lefty in koa, and it is a very, very sweet guitar, terrific action, wonderful neck. Not quite as dominant as my Martin, but it's is a definite keeper, and a terrific guitar onstage. The body is all laminates, which really kills any chance of feedback. You can have it loud as hell in the monitors and it is perfect. Plus, you can mix the bridge saddle pickup with an internal mic right on the controls. Highly recommended, and I think that's a pretty good price.

I have the Alvarez one and it always gives me the single coil buzz n' hum...

Mine just has the stock piezo in there ... I don't have any problems with hum, though. It sounds a lot like Garcia's Takamine did during the Radio City run; this was straight into the board. I was not using an internal microphone.

I've been told if you back off the level on the piezo a little bit it won't "quack" quite as much, there's a sweet spot there, apparently. I love the fact that it's pretty much impervious to feedback.

I don't have any problems with my WY-1. Of course if I stick it in front the cab it will squeal. Other than that the stock WY-1's kick ass.

I'm quite happy with my Takamine. I would by an Alvarez but no one sells them up here in Ontario...

Does anyone know of any place near Toronto that sells Alvarez?

What aux pickup does anyone use with their WY1!

I love my WY1 and got a soundhole pickup like Bobby.
But I got the Alvarez branded one don't know of others.

But it is essentially a single coil and hums badly.

My tech advised against the internal mic cuz of feedback.

Thoughts?!

I have an AD90 Alvarez acoustic/electric. I Like the way it is by itself so I have never tried mixing in any extra inputs. But it looks interesting. It is a sweet guitar as well.

I got this from the Alvarez manual>>>

Bobby uses the fishman blend system in his and to stop feedback he puts the sound hole cover in it.
