Matt Deveney Memorial show Playin'Dead in Boston Sat 6-7

Postby playingdead » Thu May 08, 2008 8:20 am

Hey folks ... here are the details on the Matt Deveney Memorial that Playin' Dead is helping put on; all proceeds benefit GIST cancer research at Dana Farber. The event will be at the outdoor pavillion at the Museum of Science in Boston on Sat. June 7th, 6:30-10:30 pm. The band will do acoustic and electric sets, there will be a barbecue buffet and a raffle that includes Red Sox tickets. Parking and a day pass to the museums is included with the ticket price.

Matty was such a gentle soul ... and brought a lot to the table for the band, I was listening last night to his understated, tasteful piano playing on Wharf Rat, just a few short weeks before we realized how ill he was:

The family is requesting a $100 donation to the Matt Deveney Memorial Fund, but understands that's a steep price for some of us, so they are encouraging you to contact his sister Elizabeth at elizabeth.deveney@gmail.com ... give whatever you can, and enjoy the music and Matt's memory. Click the link below the image for full details, her address, etc. Please spread the word ... and hug someone you love. Matty got sick in February and we lost him in June. Life is precious.
