Interesting. jerrygarcia.com says that Tiger was used at the last Soldier Field show. I thought there was a lot of doubt about that?

did they just do a major overhaul on this site or is it a new site altogether?

anybody have an idea who runs it? the site seems to be packed with great pics and i really like the guitars breakdown. like said above, nothing new, but man i never tire of starring at beautiful guitars, especially those...

It also has the tidbit about a 1963 neck on Alligator... I am still not sure what that was ever based on. Anyone??

A 1963 neck would have a rosewood fretboard, other than a special order. It even has a button-style string tree does it not?

And I still don't buy that it was a '57 special-ordered as swamp-ash either. I believe that Alligator is a '55 or early '56 neck AND body, unless someone shows me the body and neck joint dates otherwise.

I thought I read somewhere that if Alligator was a 57 it was likely a Mary Kay before it was refinished?

Not much of a debate, Rosebud was played during the second set and at least one encore.

Most of 2nd Set

1st Encore

The Mary Kaye Strat was never an official model until they were "reissued" in 1987, but a true (very rare) "MK" from the Custom Shop would have started life with all gold hardware.

Is there solid evidence that Lightning Bolt was played at all on 7/9/95?

I don't believe it was even on that summer tour. I believe it stayed behind to get it's alembic style bridge and scalloped brass nut.
