Line 6 mobile IN or something else?

Anyone have any experience with the Line 6 mobile in? I am trying to figure out which way to go for an input connector for the ipad/iphone. The Line 6 mobile in has some great software that is available (mobile pod).

The other possibility is the apogee jam. it is more expensive but i have read that it produces very good quality sound. it does not come with available software but does work with several. i don't have any experience with any of the software, so if anyone has some hands-on knowledge, i'd really love to hear your opinions. the cool part of the jam is that it has a pre-amp built into the plug. here's the link to the apogee jam:

I pondered the L6 as I think they make some good products.

But will be popping for the Apogee and use it with garageband.

have you got pretty good sounds coming from the garageband amp emulators? i've never used an emulator before, but it seems like you'd have a lot of flexibility.
