great solo there btw. Peggy-O solo can be entirely played in A major pentatonic which has the same notes as F# minor pentatonic. A and F# minor are the two prominent chords of the song's verses, which is what Jerry solos over. If you are cool with your 7 tone scales, then you can use A Ionian, and F# Aeolian. They contain the same tones but add D (the 4th of A) and G# (the Major 7th of A). Jerry works it kind of like he works Me and My Uncle, emphasizing the mood of each chord as he runs through the same scale. ( In that case G major pentatonic and E minor pent.) What makes Jerry Jerry in my opinion is his timing and his passing tones, he just always seems to tell an amazing, elaborate story over the simplest of two chords. WHen he solos over verses, he starts with the vocal melody, then builds and builds on it. I could go on, but hopefully that can get you going.

Hey crazyfingers thanks for trying but I know the scales he uses. But ive tried to figure it out by just writin down note for note but there are some parts that it is just to quick or just a slide that i cant comprehend. So if someone good out there that can prolly figure this out in no time please help.

Hey BlobWeird,

Remember me from the "Exemplary Solos Needed for Independent Study"?

http://community.rukind.org/viewtopic.php?t=1188&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Well, you recommended Peggy-O 12/27/1977, and I took your recommendation, and I have the first two stanzas fully transcribed, hot off the presses for you! Just send me your e-mail in a PM and I'll shoot them off to you. (Please specify PDF, PowerTab, or text.)

I am sure that everyone would be interested in seeing that. Would it be possible to post that to the forums?

- I don't really know how to notate bends. You'll have to listen and
decide.
- Not all of the fingerings are necessarily accurate. In particular,
the
highest notes on Stanza I are transcribed for acoustic guitar; they
should be played on the B string but I put them on the E string.
- Hammer-ons and pull-offs are not necessarily notated. They are
difficult to hear.

Other than that - jam on!

Winston

You might have to copy and paste into wordpad or notepad. But there is winston's first two stanza's of the solo. Sounds right to me so far.
