Me & My Uncle chords...

i found two different versions, one from deadstein

and the chord changes are totally different, so i wanted to know how you play it...

The intro has changed over the years:

Some stay on Em for 4 barres then to G.
Others bop from Em to B back to Em like the turnaround.

I play it close to DeadStein with the following diff's:
1 - I walk up from the G to the A
2 - After the A I add a Asus4 for flavor
3 - I play a B instead of the F#m

Don't forget that earlier versions started by holding an Em for a 4 bars and then going right into the G. As you fully explore this tune this is a great variation on the standard we came to expect for most of their touring.

Totally agree and that's how I play it!

FTR I do the A as well of the 7th when I'm playing in an arrangement without a keyboardist.

Am I the only one that hears the song this way? Just not hearing the G chord in the "And you know.." part that you guys posted. Did they change the chord structure when they switched from the older C Am version? Always played it this way so maybe that's why it just sounds right to me. Not that it matters but what key is the song in G or E? I don't recall minor keys (Em) in my limited study of music theory. I play my leads in a G blues scale (same as E minor).

Are you playing that G chord on the 7th fret?
