Scales used on typical solos

to confuse matter more. In light of all the solid info you guys discussed, another tip lies in the Em. I use the Em scale for smaller runs over the G major chords. The Em scale is the relative minor to G major, they are the same notes, but if you are trying to link runs starting in G and developing futher into C, this scale gives a nice lee-way into those parts. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think. You could play the Em scale at the 12th fret, basically a pentatonic type pattern with some additional notes...here is a rough scetch:
6th string 12 14 15
5th string 12 14 15
4rth string 12 14
3rd string 11 12 14
2nd string 12 13 15
1st string 12 14 15
You could also flatten the 7th to achieve the G mixo/
