Weir performed this song with Kingfish before the Dead played it. I've lost that record long ago in a studio fire back in 1978. Haven't heard that version since.

It was a truly great version, IMHO. That original Kingfish band was terrific. I saw them live and they were VERY hot. There is at least one live album out there that is also good, and if you poke around, you can find torrents of a handful of other shows. I really liked what Robbie Hoddinot (sp?) the lead player did in that band.
